Hello!
My name is Sharon and I am the trainer and proud owner of Second Nature K9. I have two privately rehomed dogs, Rosie and Neela and a rescue house rabbit named Parsley! I have worked with dogs for around 9 years which began with volunteering at a local kennels in Belfast. After studying at university in Nottingham I was employed at a new dog daycare centre in 2016. My role included handling a variety of dog breeds, all differing in size, age and temperament. I would ensure that their day-to-day needs are met through safe socialization, care and well-being. My skills of recognizing dog body language and communicating with dogs in a large group scale really helped my understanding of why dogs behave the way they do.
After adopting Rosie, my love for dog training really flourished and I wanted to dive deep into learning as much as I can through accredited courses and shadowing some of the best dog trainers in the field. I started to offer group puppy training classes and also private 121 home consults for adult dogs. I loved working with the owners and watching the relationship with their dog thrive through each training session.
I decided to start my own training business to offer more services such as solo dog walking, pack walks and outdoor group training classes to help new and current clients regularly maintain their training at affordable rates. This is where we are now! After learning as much as I can from the day care and working alongside some great trainers, I have a supportive network of committed clients and hardworking dogs who have inspired me to go full time and launch Second Nature K9. A business focusing on helping dog owners achieve a harmonious relationship with their dog through loving leadership and balanced training.
I have an open-minded approach when it comes to dog training and I treat each dog as an individual. The complexity of the canine mind requires the correct approach and appropriate methods to help address the underlying issues of the specific problem to the individual dog. Therefore I require my clients to also have an open minded approach when it comes to training with me. Please read the Terms & Conditions for more info or get in touch to discuss further.
